The Citizens Network of the Capital Region, Inc. is an independent, non-partisan grassroots organization of citizens from Hartford and the towns of the Capital region. Our members identify and study pressing issues of regional importance, promoting wide-spread public discussion and debate of the issues and possible solutions. We work with educators, business and local elected officials to find common ground and a collaborative agenda for the good of the region and the state.
Please consider becoming a member of the Network. We now have a database of nearly 1000 residents of the region and a goal to grow until we have 5000. As citizens we must join the growing debate about issues that affect our region such as the burden of local property taxes, affordable housing (so that our children can purchase homes in our communities), educating our future work force, improving transportation, and so forth. Your voice will help shape the debate. In addition, as a member you will be included in our periodic electronic polls about issues facing the region, we will send you our quarterly Network e-update, and we will see that you get personal invitations to participate in future study committees and other Network events.
